Hippo English Olympiad: National Round in Macau 2024!

河马英语奥林匹克全国赛， 澳门 2024！

The Hippo English Olympiad National Round was held in Macau from Wednesday, May 1st to Saturday, May 4th at Macao Polytechnic University. This year was the first time the National Round was held in Macau.

河马英语奥林匹克全国赛于5月1日星期三至5月4日星期六在澳门理工大学举行。今年是全国巡回赛首次在澳门举行。

Eight CISH students and nine CISH parents attended the Olympiad in Macau. The 8 CISH students participated in the following categories: 3.2 Bennett Engel – Elementary School Junior; 4.1 Josephine Liu, 5.2 Olivia Xiao, 5.2 Ziqian Cheng – Elementary School Senior; 7.1 Dante Ordenes Kemeny, 7.1 Xavi Boortz – Junior High School; 10.1 Elsie Jiang, 10.2 Matheus Schinke – High School.

八名 CISH 学生和九名 CISH 家长参加了在澳门举行的奥林匹克比赛。8 名 CISH 学生参加了以下类别：3.2 Bennett Engel – 小学三年级；4.1 Josephine Liu、5.2 Olivia Shaw、5.2 Ziqian Cheng – 小学高年级；7.1 Dante Ordenes Kemeny、7.1 Xavi Boortz – 初中；10.1 Elsie Jiang，10.2 Matheus Schinke – 高中。

Ruben du Plooy, the MYP / DP Guidance Counselor, was the accompanying teacher and undertook numerous responsibilities throughout the Olympiad.

Chris Marionni Department Head of EAL organized the event for the students.

The National Round consisted of 3 main modules: Written Assessment, Spelling Bee, and Quiz Bowl. There was also a Carnival and Talent show!
